Dave, Fist of Odin
Wo. I'm not sure I like THAT much back story, because it makes me feel like even if I'd pushed really hard to go after the MoP, we wouldn't have done anything with that. Quite interesting, though!
Still, I stand by my two main statements:
a) I had a ton of fun, and will continue to do so with a new character,
b) I felt more storylined by other PCs - especially Brogg and Marivhon - than I did by the DM. That's not a dig - not by any means, because I try to play characters (even Paladins) who have something in their personality so that they won't split up the party to pursue their own goals.
I mean, a Fist of Odin, who sees his god's emissary turned into a serving wench? Ignoring that was fairly hard to keep in character about, but off we went on the Zelba stuff.
Anyway. Hey Mark - can I get a second login for here? Maybe that way I could login as Dave, Fist of Odin - checking in as an NPC every now and again - and start a new main character.
Rob, if you're cool with that, it sounds like fun.
Of course, if our new characters have no interaction with the old ones, that's fine, too; but I'd miss DFoO. He liked to rap and he liked to clobber and he liked to drink, and I don't do as much of that in real life as I'd like to.
So I'm drinking some wine, and I'd like to dedicate it to our bold adventuring party! All in all, I think we were very effective as agents of change in the world, such as we were, and maybe we didn't get the levels or the power or the immortality that some NPCs did, but I'm pretty sure we had a lot more fun along the way. We bested a crystal golem - both in rapping, and in combat - we met several gods, went weird places, and became High Priests. Well, maybe not ALL of us, in that last one, but it's pretty good nonetheless.
