The Golden Compass is not the best of the series. I liked the Subtle Knife the best, perhaps. The Amber Spyglass had very nice twists, and I do like twists.

I am very courious to see the Prestige made into a film. Though, it does seem to be a film "inspired by the book Prestige", rather than a filming of the book.
