Step up, Dungeon Master.
Alright, alright. Everyone's pulling their own. Except for Cinder, maybe... but Cinder has that problem.
However, this is a rap battle, isn't it? I want to see what John Romeo has got. C'mon DM, you talked the talk...

Hey Renwick - I mean, Chris - if you look, I have now posted THREE raps, to your one. Sure, I'm mentioning the beatboxing, sure, one of my raps was only 6 lines, but I think that I'm carrying my weight in the rap battle.
Three raps. How many you got? How much game you bringing? Cuz I'm bringing it ALL.

weird stuff in here like bull and bear market ref's. Plus some interesting social slang that influences us today. Check it out if yer bored, or not bored but interested. Its not the oldest book on cants and crytospeak but it's interesting. I guess it was a fad in the 17th century or something like it.

The Fall is a good book, damn it. Better than The Stranger. If you want a truly monstrous narrator though, Pale Fire will be your friend. It don't get better than that.
Alright, let's kick this bitch...

Thanks Brogg. Er, Mark. Updated the executive summary, basically just to say that Vrill is now dead. Trying to keep the ES short and sweet.

Hey, that Executive Summary on the Campaign Page is a bit dated. It doesn't mention how we kicked Vrill's arse.

We're linked at the bottom as an example 'blog'.
Huh? How the hell did this happen? Did one of you type up the entry? I don't think so though...

I gave a guy change today and talked to him about how he really should go to work tomorrow. Maybe I encourage this behaviour on their part. The whole free money thing. I mean he even said he had a job and all. Well Chris I'm sure we'll talk about this. Probably not much to say though really. Rob, I just don't know what to say. Maybe a thanks is in order since none of the rest of us have been rob'ed we owe you some money or something for picking up the slack.
Just for the record Rob is not an outlier, he's a person like you and me, so as fucked up as his life may be don't treat him like some freak of nature. His life is relavant too, and science would do well to recognize that.
sorry Ed it's just what was there.

Holy Shit.
I am glad that you guys are alright. That really really sucks. Not cool at all to see a gun. Not cool. It is really too bad that some guy has to create such a fucked-up dangerous situation for $80. Probably jonesing, I'd guess.
Yeah Rob, maybe you should change your name to "Lotto" or something. What dice have you been rolling for your Random Encounters, a d4? There just has to be something there. You are now an outlier, my friend.
Anyway, glad you guys are ok.

Holy shit dude. So glad you're alright. Just a little bit of money, ya? Better than a bullet in the head.
Wasn't gonna say anything, but in weird coincidence, I was held up again last week. Not hurt, the guy didn't even grab my fucking laptop, just took cash. Getting pretty sick of this. Is it my goddamn NAME or something?
In other news, anyone see the '99 TV show Freaks and Geeks? The last episode is the best television/movie version of a tabletop D&D game I've ever seen. It's hilarious, and intermixed with this disco dancing scene, which is sort of my ultimate dream.
Not going to be posting the first two weeks of Feb, as I'll be travelling on the east coast.

I saw him just last night.....it seemed like dave.
He was wearing a hat though. I can't say for sure it was dave. I think it was. We should all call dave, do independant research, then vote on whether the individual we talk to is indeed Dave. I think we should avoid asking useless questions like "are you dave?" we can't trust that kind of information. Oh shit the "dave" might be reading this.....hrm. uh hi dave.

Okay, I can see why 'Cinder' would rank higher than 'Brogg the half-breed' or 'Dave, Fist of Odin' for logging posts over all of blogger.com or whatever. There's probably like a hundred goth kids named Cinder with high school poetry blogs. But 'Rob'? There should be thousands of dudes named 'Rob' posting all the time.
Cinders:

Actually, uh, it looks like there's just lots of pets named Cinder. Plus that nu dude who probably posts a lot.
Robs:

Etc. Tons of Robs. TONS.
Oddly, I don't know any other Robs. There is one other Rob I know in neuroscience, but he's a senior faculty member at Stanford, not a young guy like me. Not sure I could be friends with a guy named Rob. But that's probably a complex sorta thing. Back to the game.

Yeah, Blogpulse looks at all blogs. I am guessing that it isn't our Cinder that is racking up the posts.
I am going to leave it up to Eddie to get this FTP thing going. He is the IT guy, anyway. DiD is enough sysoping for me.
Keep the mp3's coming, Rob. I love the mashups.

And I'm gonna keep sending you mp3s for the time being Mark. Who knows how long it'll take to get an ftp server up with shitloads of memory?

I learned a new HTML technique today. Check out Dave's Treasure Map on the Campaign page. The links are redundant, but they needn't be. Rob, it could get silly, with webpages for each location.

First off, great dreams, Rob.
Yeah, I like that kinda stuff. Keep it coming, but let's do a 2 song/day thing, ok? It keeps me from getting behind on my downloads. I'll send more. Some Detroit stuff, the housier stuff.
Best Dance Song? Blue Monday is a good contender; it is pretty ubiquitous. I am having a hard time to think of something that is moreso. I want to say that "1999" is up there, but it hasn't been remixed much or at all. Sugar Hill's Rapper's delight may have provided the best sample ever, but I might agree with you with Blue Monday as the Best Dance song ever.
posted by Jimmy Swill at 11:07 AM 0 complaints
Okay Mark, I sent you probably five or six more mp3s. Most of my collection is larger than 10 Mb per file, so it won't make it, which is a shame because there's some good stuff there (e.g., trans-x, living on video, which you probably don't even know you want to hear). The other stuff is mostly mashups, and it seems that people either love em or hate em, I'm the former, if you're the later let me know and I'll just keep uploading paula abdul straight up. Ha! Get it? It's a pun on her, you know, her song title.
I don't have any more glitch stuff unmixed, so if you have any, send it on. The only New Order I've got is Angel Dust, Vicious Streak, and Round and Round, plus a crapload of Blue Monday remixes.
So maybe this is better as an email question, but fuck it. Dave and I were talking about this over holiday. What's the #1 dance song? Of all time maybe, but at least over the last two-three decades. I was saying Blue Monday, for historical reasons, and because it's been remixed more times than anything else I know. Plus, I've head it played at raves, techno clubs, goth clubs, mainstream dance clubs, and new wave clubs, so it's got that cross-genre appeal thing the kids love today. Any other contenders?

Rob, send me some more good beats.

Okay, thanks, Mike's char sheet updated. He doesn't really have stuff any more, beyond his totebag. All the cool stuff he had, Vrill sold off to finance Grito's operations.
Renwick, Feeble Desperation sounds like a good NWP. You can take non-combative actions while in -1 to -9, but you'll continue to drop. That is, you can't bandage yourself, as your action will cause you to drop one pt lower, etc.
We'll just move on...
posted by Rob at 5:16 PM 0 complaints
Yeah, I am for moving on. I don't think that we could handle a statue greater than VII+. I do have that scroll to summon a clay golem though. Maybe I should let him duke it out with one of the bigger statues...

hey Rob, Mikes character sheet is out of date.

sure it would be nice if Rob would just let us have all the stuffin the arena below say the 10th statue but he isn't going to do that. I say we just be happy with what we have and move on eh?

You can't do an upside down exclamation mark apparently. Otherwise I would. Anyway, the Mexican Connection is an old gaming friend of mine, Doug. He's down in Mexico for the holidays. Hence the search with froemke added to hopefully narrow it. Although, finally, just searching with descent into depths, no quotes or nothing, brings our blog to the top! Good work Mark.
posted by Rob at 6:01 PM 0 complaints
I don't know what is more disturbing, the fact that someone searched descentintodepths froemke, or the fact that the search was out of Distrito Federal, Mexico.
That's F'd up.

Here are today's searches that sent people to us:
descentintodepths froemke
Asmodeus hit points in ad
TEDDY ruxpin's sexual orientation
gelatinous cube and adventure
Uh oh. They're on to me. I like how 'TEDDY' is in all caps, like they want the search engine to make damn sure they're only interested in TEDDY ruxpin's orientation, not some other ruxpin.

Thanks. You could make me an admin and I could change it myself if you'd rather.

I didn't even type in that url to see if it's real, but I'm guessing that it is. Sorry if you went there. Like I said, probably N(ot) S(afe) F(or) W(ork). The Internet is fun! And yeah, also sorry about the pun there.
The buuurned thing I just had to do though, first thing that came to mind. My current favorite episode.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, well, you just aren't trying very hard are you? And after Mark went to all that trouble.

Sort of a patchwork...
Anyway, I just couldn't figure to how to make the Contributer links change. They remain black unless hovered over.

The hidden links thing is pretty funny and ripe for abuse. Although the black/black clicked/unclicked thing is oddly disconcerting to my web browsing behavior.

I figured it out. However, all links are now black. They still highlight if you hover over them, but they aren't purple or blue.
Is that cool? Hidden text links could be fun.

I tried to get Bloggy by linking some of my text, but I think that the purple is really annoying. It seems to be a Blogger default.
I want to put secret links in my text by leaving the linked font black. Tell me if you can figure this out.

Yeah Chris, I'll echo those sentiments. Gaming's been good on lots of different levels. Shit, this blog basically runs itself off fumes from all the tabletop we did.
Anyway, hope everyone had a good New Year's... it was fantastic here. Now that all the craziness is over, I'll be able to post regularly for the next month at least.
